Though its flip phone form factor may be reminiscent of dumb phones, the clamshell Galaxy Golden is a feature-rich smartphone, and one that may have a new successor. Regulatory papers filed with China's TENAA for certification suggests that Samsung has a Galaxy Golden 2 is in the works. Like last year's model, this year's Galaxy Golden 2 has a clamshell form factor and runs Android on dual screens. The Galaxy Golden 2 bears the model number SM-W2015 and has improved internal specs.
Like many of this year's flagship phones, the Galaxy Golden 2 is said to be sporting a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 application processor alongside 2 GB RAM and 16 GB of storage. The phone will run Android 4.4.4 on a pair of 3.9-inch 720p HD displays. There will be a 16-megapixel rear camera with a 3.7-megapixel front-facing camera.
The phone has not been announced by Samsung and is likely limited to select markets in Asia.
