DTH was Delayed due to PakSat, Lolz

Post by tiger »

Idiots were forcing dth operators for PakSat, signal of paksat were very weak, they waited to relaunch date of paksat.
and 1 year, before, the date of expiry of paksat, they replace paksat, with name Paksat mm1.

in other countries, dth operators allowed to launch dth from any satellite, that cover the signal of that country.

best time of dth launch was early 2000s, even then 2016 was not bad time, if they immediately launched dth.
Nearly a decade passed.

According to The News:

One of the most critical structural constraints was the expectation that DTH platforms use PAKSAT, Pakistan’s national satellite system, as the primary broadcast uplink. The intention aligned with national sovereignty and the development of domestic satellite capacity. But commercially, it narrowed the operator’s flexibility while incurring additional costs. Regional competitors typically negotiate satellite bandwidth across multiple global fleets to secure redundancy, cost-efficiency and market-appropriate technical performance.

You’re arguing that Pakistan’s DTH rollout was delayed and weakened because operators were forced to use the underperforming PAKSAT system instead of any suitable satellite, unlike other countries, which hurt flexibility, costs, and competitiveness and caused nearly a decade of lost time.
