So friends i am here to announce a breaking news that days of free internet are over, The Article 13 has been passed and very soon may be in next 2-3 months it may be implemented all over world. As per Article 13, Content Filters shall be in place and it would become impossible to violate copy rights only legal material could be uploaded. So it means that all big players like YouTube, Facebook, forums etc shall be shut down. Al most all famous sites/forums are protesting against Article 13 nowadays.
The purpose is to raise awareness for the upcoming Article 13, which may be the end of the free internet as you know it. This might be our last chance to stop Article 13, but we need as many supporters, as possible and many EU citizens still didn't hear about Article 13, yet. Even if Article 13 is an EU thing, it would also affect people outside of the EU, because Article 13 may force small projects (like forums, chats, etc.) within and outside the EU to shut down.
The thing is, that Article 13 would affect every website that is older than 3 years. And every affected website would have to implement a content filter, that checks for possible copyright infringements, regardless of the content type (so texts have to be checked as well as images, videos & co.).
As a result, many of the "big players" like YouTube, Facebook, Instagram & co. might be geo restricted, because of this. And it's not just a matter of effort. Many small websites would just have to shut down, because they can't afford this kind of filter mechanism.
