Daniil Kvyat has qualified for his FIA Super Licence and will drive for Toro Rosso during first practice at the United States and Brazilian Grands Prix.
The Russian will replace the Red Bull-bound Daniel Ricciardo at the Italian outfit next year and with F1 testing limited, the team were keen to get the 19-year-old who has only been racing single-seaters since 2010 more experience ahead of his debut.
Having clinched the GP3 Drivers' Championship in Abu Dhabi, Kvyat took to the Misano circuit in Italy last Friday driving the 2011 STR6. He completed 102 laps - around 402 km - thus satisfying the FIA's criteria.
In Austin he will replace future team-mate Jean-Eric Vergne in Practice One, whilst at Interlagos the Russian will take the place of Ricciardo.
