My suggestion is not buy 4k tv in 40" as you would not notice that much of a difference in 1080p and 4k (as from price point) from normal viewing distance and thats why you will hardly (if any) find Sony and Samsung 4k tv in 40".
Only Chinese brands are available in 40" 4k, go for bigger then 48" and you'll get most out of your bang for buck.
as far picture quality Sony has more true to life color where as Samsung and Lg are more on saturated color side. Personally i like Sony.
In Chinese Brand go for TCL

no matching with samsung brand.
go to shop and watch one chanell on all brand 4k leds.
u will feel the difference.
samsung is expensive but none of other brands can copmete .
