The Ghana international was the target of a section of Hellas supporters during the game the Verona outfit hosted and lost 3-1.

The Lega Serie A said in a statement on Tuesday: "Around 3000 local supporters sitting in the Curva sud (South section) of the stadium on two occasions during the first half of the game directed chants of racial discrimination at Sulley Muntari and those were heard in other sections of the stadium.''

As part of the punishment, Hellas will have the ring of the Curva Sud section of the Marc' Antonio Bentegodi stadium empty for their next home match against Lazio on October 30.

Inter Milan have been fined 30,000 euros for discriminatory chants aimed at Napoli fans during Sunday's 2-2 draw against Napoli at the San Siro.

Juventus, meanwhile, will be without Simone Padoin for Sunday's match against Palermo with the Italian midfielder handed a one-match suspension for insulting the officials during Saturday's 1-1 draw at Sassuolo.

Sampdoria defender Fabrizio Cacciatore, Hellas defender Rafael Marquez and Cesena midfielder Manuel Coppola will also serve one-match bans this weekend.
