Scott Quigg will defend his WBA super-bantamweight title aga

Post by grigor »

Scott Quigg will defend his WBA super-bantamweight title against Diego Silva of Argentina in Manchester on November 23.

The fight will provide chief support to the headline clash between Carl Froch and George Groves at the Phones4U Arena, live on Sky Sports Box Office.

Bury's Quigg was upgraded from interim champion prior to his draw with Yoandris Salinas in London last time out, and will be making his first defence of the full title.

Silva, who has a 29-2 slate with four draws, has lost just once in six years to two-weight world champion Fernando Montiel, but has never fought outside of South America.

However, he has fought only once this year and that was a 10-round draw in his native Buenos Aires.

Quigg will be joined by Gallagher's Gym team-mates Anthony Crolla, who challenges British lightweight champion Martin Gethin, Scott Cardle and Callum Smith on a packed undercard.
