Use genuine windows,
AOMEI Backupper Pro/Macrium Reflect (backup of c drive + system reserve/windows installation),
Always download softwares from trusted websites and even scan them from VIRUSTOTAL website (it may be false positive or malware, you need to check popular anti virus result, if not it may be false positive, it means no virus but anti virus detect as virus).

99% chances you do not need any anti virus,

if you even need anti virus, then no.1 virus detector is Eset Nod 32, on 2nd position is Avast Antivirus.

* Macrium/Aomei backupper are Norton Ghost alternative, but fast and better, Ghost was good in XP days.
