Fashion TV Extends Reach To Asia Via AsiaSat 5

Satellite TODAY July 22, 2013 - Fashion TV (FTV), has selected SatLink Communications, a global teleport, content management and HD playout services provider, to playout, uplink and stream its HD channel onto AsiaSat 5.

FTV is the only 24/7 international TV network exclusively dedicated to fashion, beauty, glamour and style. Broadcasting across five continents, FTV is a widely distributed satellite channel, pushing content out using 530 different TV platforms, which include mobile and IPTV, while catering for 20 million monthly viewers via its YouTube channel alone.

SatLink will provide FTV with full HD Playout services and digital archiving from its center in Tel Aviv, Israel, and uplinking to AsiaSat 5 satellite to broadcast to Asia-Pacific mass markets including India, China and Indonesia. SatLink operates two full C-band transponders on AsiaSat 5, a cost effective DVB-S2 MCPC platform, which delivers higher throughput and greater bandwidth efficiency, and a DVB-S platform that enables customers to benefit from high quality content contribution and distribution solutions to the Asia Pacific region.
