Method to update drivers in any VU/DM

Some times we have to update specific driver of certain devices like usb wifi etc, so here is the method to update drivers.

Method

1. First of all make a backup copy of the current drivers, copy all the files in /lib/modules/3.X.X/extra.

2. Unzip tar.gz drivers file with 7-Zip and FTP all files to /lib/modules/3.X.X/extra.

3. Restart the receiver / GUI, don`t reboot.

Note:

If image restarts correctly new drivers are compatible with your image, if image doesn't start it means that the drivers are not compatible and you have to wait for an image upgrade.


4. In this case to go back to old drivers, just connect with FTP and copy the drivers you backup before to /lib/modules/3.1.X/extra
