Installing MIUI Rom on HTC ONE

This guide is for Windows users.
This guide is for the HTC One. It’s not been tested on 801E/802W/802T.
There might be potential risks in flashing this rom, please think twice before flashing it. We are not responsible for any damage caused by flashing the rom.


BE AWARE, UNLOCKING YOUR BOOTLOADER WILL WIPE EVERYTHING ON YOUR PHONE (INCLUDING YOUR INTERNAL STORAGE) SO BACKUP EVERY THING YOU WANT TO KEEP.



Unlock the Bootloader

Go to htcdev.com and create an account and log into.
Click on unlock bootloader and get started



Expand the list of supported devices and search for your device model name, you won’t find the HTC One (M7) so select Other supported models


And it will ask you confirmation make sure to say yes and accept their legal terms and proceed to unlock instructions
Follow carefully first 3 steps and click on Proceed to Step 5 button. (Ignore Required Resources section on the right side of the screen)
Open up command prompt (Win +R and type cmd and hit enter).


Navigate to where you unzipped "mini-sdk" package, the command to use is cd like this: cd c:\mini-sdk\ be sure of the path.


In the Command prompt type following command: fastboot oem get_indentifier_token


And then follow very carefully steps 6 to 7. At the end click on "Submit" button.
Check your e-mail you should receive one under minutes from HTCDev with the Unlock_code.bin file attached.
Download Unlock_code.bin file and save it to c:\mini-sdk\
In the Command prompt type following command: fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin


You will be asked on your device to confirm. use the volume keys to navigate to the wanted answer and press power button to confirm.


Your bootloader is unlocked.

III) Flash recovery

Reboot into fastboot mod like you did previously (power down, press Volume Down and while pressing Volume Down, press Power holding both buttons to start the device into Bootloader mode. And navigate to fastboot via volume key button the press the power button to confirm)


In the Command prompt type following command: fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
and reboot your device.


You have now a custom recovery

IV) Flashing MIUI

Download MIUI rom from the site
Place it on the internal SD card
Reboot into recovery (power down, press Volume Down and while pressing Volume Down, press Power holding both buttons to start the device into Bootloader mode. And navigate to recovery via volume key button the press the power button to confirm)


Backup your device by pressing on Backup and by swiping to backup (Do not check or uncheck anything if you don’t know what you are doing, leave it as it is.)


After the backup, do a factory reset, go back to the main screen then wipe -> swipe to factory reset, don’t touch anything else
Go back to the main screen on the main screen press install and navigate to MIUI rom zip and install it and reboot when it’s done.


Congrats you are now on MIUI
