The policemen from Łańcut, together with the officers dealing with combating cybercrime of the Provincial Police Headquarters in Rzeszów, stopped the illegal distribution of the television signal. The 41-year-old resident of the Białobrzegi commune, who made available programs of paid digital platforms via the Internet, will be responsible for the sharing.
Police officers from the department for combating cybercrime of the Provincial Police Headquarters in Rzeszów found that an inhabitant of the Łańcut poviat uses illegal devices to provide keys from subscriber cards of one of the satellite TV operators for a fee. In the course of the activities, policemen from Rzeszów and Łańcut established that a 41-year-old resident of the Białobrzegi commune is responsible for sharing.
Since last year, the man has illegally made available to dozens of people the reception of satellite TV channels in the full programming package available on the market via the Internet network. He charged a much lower fee for the service than legal subscribers pay. The 41-year-old has already heard the charges and pleaded guilty. The man will be liable in accordance with the provisions of the Act of July 5, 2002 on the protection of certain services provided electronically based on or consisting in conditional access. He is facing up to 3 years imprisonment.
