2pts Consortium to win 20.45 Leicester at 9/2 (best odds guaranteed)

The market looks to have underestimated the chance of Consortium in the Henry Aiken Handicap at Leicester. It's not a tip for those who need an early night following a weekend of excess as he doesn't run until 2045 but David Simcock's charge looks to have plenty going for him. This represents a drop in grade for the son of Teofilio who was third behind a subsequent winner at Windsor last time and has been running consistently well for some time now. A mile-and-a-half is his optimum trip - a comment that does not apply to the majority of his four rivals. Certainly favourite Galileano didn't look to be crying out for dropping back two furlongs when winning over a mile-and-six at Nottingham last time while Hibertas isn't proven beyond 10 furlongs yet. Cahull needs to improve to defy top weight and Flame Fantastique, blinkered for the first time, has an awful lot to prove despite representing top connections. Consortum is the one runner in the race who looks rock solid and he can send us to slumberland in style. (By Dave Ord)

2pts Diego Costa to score anytime for Chelsea v West Brom at 10/11

Diego Costa has been out for around six weeks with the niggling hamstring issue that has bothered him for much of the season and in that intervening period Manchester City's Sergio Aguero has bounded clear at the top of the Premier League scoring charts to open up a six-goal lead over Costa. Unless the latter produces an amazing late frenzy, Aguero looks home and hosed but Harry Kane (one clear of Costa) could still be reeled in for second place - and with little else for Chelsea to play for, the potential for a small victory over Spurs could add some interesting motivation. Otherwise, why play Costa and risk aggravating an issue that could linger on over the summer and possibly into next season? He is as short as 8/11 in places to score anytime so the 11/8 with a couple of firms makes some appeal as the best bet with Kane in his crosshairs for a game that is tricky enough to call. 2pts Sidarian Bullet (T6) to win 8.07 at Nottingham (Best Odds Guaranteed)

There are eight competitive open races for Nottingham-bound punters to solve this evening and we rate Sidarian Bullet (T6) as the banker on the card at 8.07. Charlie Lister's improving son of Central City and Ballyhill Beauty arrives on a hat-trick having beat last year's Romford Puppy Cup champion Laughing Gravy over course and distance the last twice and, seven wins from 10 career starts, the June '13 whelp can continue on a steep upward trajectory. 2pts Our Boy Jack to win 3.20 Ayr at 7/2 (Best Odds Guaranteed)

Our BoyJack looks ready to strike in the Farrar McCamley Handicap at Ayr this afternoon. Seven furlongs in soft ground is exactly where the son of Camacho wants to be and he was an eyecatching sixth on unsuitably quick going at Thirsk last time. The cheekpieces go back on here and while three pounds higher than his last success, that was a three-length victory in a very competitive heat at this track last autumn. With the Richard Fahey team continuing to churn out the winners he looks sure to run a huge race and represents a fair bet at 7/2. (By Dave Ord)

2pts Arsenal to beat Sunderland to nil at 21/20

On balance, the safe play here would look to be a home win to nil and at 21/20 that's the call rather than play guessing games with regards the line-ups. Arsenal have beaten Burnley and Aston Villa to nil at the Emirates, the division's lowest scorers on the road, and Sunderland are cut from a similar cloth. Not only that, but it's hard to see the visitors venturing beyond halfway with any real panache and essentially this may prove to be odds-against about the Gunners scoring, which would obviously be extremely good value. If there is to be a Sunderland goal it goes without saying that former Tottenham striker Jermain Defoe would be the man most likely but I'd want a point or two bigger than 4/1. A game for small stakes as are most at this time of year but one Arsenal should win with a degree of comfort without perhaps running riot. (By Ben Coley)

2.75pts Touch Tackle (T1) to win 9.08 Hove at 8/11 (Best Odds Guaranteed)

The Sky Sports cameras are Hove-bound this evening for the £10,000 Coral-backed Regency final (9.08). Although the first round was overshadowed by injury to crack stayer and ante-post favourite Billys Bullet, this year's renewal has thrown up some top-class performances and not least from Touch Tackle (T1) in last week's semi-finals. The Peterborough raider broke smartly from trap one that night and galloped his rivals into submission in 40.92 (calculated). Boasting a plum draw clad in red again this evening, the son of Ace Hi Rumble accounted for the reopposing Swansalona Diva when comfortably scoring at Swindon on Arc final night last month and is expected to take some stopping if granted a clear run. Horse Racing
1pt Just the Tonic to win 5.45 Ayr at 4/1 (best odds guaranteed)

You have to forgive Marjorie Fife’s charge a winless run that now stretches back to October 2013 – but there are plenty of reasons for optimism. For one, the daughter of Mediciean is now a well-handicapped horse, fully a stone below her last winning mark. Two, there were definite signs of a revival at Thirsk last time when showing much more of her old spark behind Mercers Row. And three, she’ll relish the give underfoot and seven furlongs is her optimum trip. In short if there is another race in Just The Tonic then it might just be the Caledonia Best Handicap. Tanaware finished a place in front of her at Thirsk and is respected but not feared, while Royal Duchess should be there or thereabouts. However, nothing in the race is as well handicapped as the selection. Let today be her day. (Dave Ord)

3pts John Peterson to beat Marc Leishman and Zac Blair at 11/8

There are plenty of punters keen to support Peterson this week, largely due to the fact that his family have a long history at Colonial Country Club, host venue of the Crowne Plaza Invitational. It was here that Peterson honed his skills as a youngster and while too short in my opinion to be backed outright, he could be worth following in his matches, particularly in round one. Peterson opened with a round of 64 here on his sole start in the tournament to date and already this season has shown glimpses of his fast-starting prowess, notably with a round of 65 at the similarly tight Waialae Country Club in Hawaii. Leishman goes well in Texas but hasn’t bettered 69 in the first round all season while Blair has now played 14 PGA Tour events this season and has failed to break 70 on the first day of any of them. Expect a fast start from a player who both knows and is suited to the venue, which should be enough to land this confident bet. (Ben Coley)

1pt Gary Anderson to win Premier League Darts on finals night at 11/4

Despite doubts about his mental state in recent weeks, The Flying Scotsman won his last two league matches and over the weekend he reached a Pro Tour final, whitewashing Michael van Gerwen en route. He also hit nine maximums in as many legs in the quarter-finals of that event and such power scoring can play a large part in him tasting success and claiming a second Premier League crown. At a shade of odds-against, backing an Anderson-van Gerwen final is tempting in some respects but the real value here appears to lie with the Scot, who can continue what's already been a memorable year with another major title. 1pt Turning Tables to win 8.42 Monmore at 10/1 (best odds guaranteed)

There are three Open races on the menu at Monmore this evening and Turning Tables can reward punters at generous odds. Julie Bateson's charge completely missed his break when only fourth at the Midlands track last week, but the son of Tyrur Lee clocked a fast time in a two-dog trial over 480m at Sheffield earlier this month, confirming his current well-being, and he won a warm open on last year's Monmore Gold Cup card. 1pt Free to Love to win 5.45 Goodwood at 4/1 (best odds guaranteed)

Trainer Charlie Hills has endured a long spell without winners in recent weeks, but the picture looks rosier from three winners and two thirds from the five runners he has saddled in the last four days. Free To Love carried some of my cash when she reappeared at Salisbury on 1000 Guineas day in a maiden that is often targeted by her owner, but not for the first time she looked an out-and-out five-furlong performer and finished quite weakly over six, having travelled nicely for a long way. Now that she has an official rating and moves into handicap company over the minimum trip, there's a lot to like about her prospects against rivals, many of whom look considerably more exposed. The fact that Ryan Moore is on board is a further sweetener as to her chances. (By Will Hayler)

Rugby League
2pt double St Helens (-4) and Leeds (-20) at 2.64/1

Hull come into tonight’s clash with St Helens with some form and have already won the reverse game. They've won four of their last five and had a good win in the Challenge Cup. But Saints had an easy game last week, which is important. A lot of their players were rested so they've effectively had two weeks to prepare. I therefore think Saints could have a big advantage and if they want to top the table they need to win this. I think they can do so. Meanwhile Leeds, as much as they've been losing, they're in good enough shape and won a high-scoring reverse. They have a good record in general against Hull KR, winning each of their last five meetings, so will enter this game in a positive frame of mind. The Rhinos have scored 29 tries to Hull KR's 11 in this sequence of matches and I still fancy them to top the table. They're one of the better bets this weekend. (By Ian Milward)

Greyhounds
2pts Laughing Gravy (T6) to win 10.11 at Romford at 5/4 (Best odds guranteed)

Action from Romford and Peterborough is live on RPGTV this evening and punters are advised to wait until the 10.11 for what we think is the best bet of the night. Paul Young's Millwards Ozil (T4) boasts a good make-up in the penultimate race on the card at Romford and is expected to race into a first-bend lead if repeating the 3.67 split he clocked in a similar contest last time out. The son of Tyrur Big Mike won a sprint open here in 13.69 earlier this year, pinging from the lids and making all in emphatic fashion, and he should take all of the beating if arriving in a similar mood tonight. Thursday's Best Sporting Bets
Horse Racing
1pt win Trip To Paris in 7.10 Sandown at 4/1 (best odds guaranteed)

The Cantor Fitzgerald Investment Trusts Henry II Stakes has a mix of horses carrying penalties, returning from absences and with varying ground and trip question marks hanging over them. However, Chester Cup winner TRIP TO PARIS has only to prove he’s up to the task and judging by his effort on the Roodee he’s well worth a go at pattern level. Things didn’t go perfectly for him by any means at Chester, but Graham Lee’s ice-cool timing combined with Trip To Paris’ ability to quicken off a decent gallop meant he was able to swoop late and land the prize. Such a turn of foot is a rarity in a stayer and it marks him out as a future Group-race winner. Ed Dunlop excels with this type of horse and given he’s two from two when racing over two miles and beyond, it’s worth backing Trip To Paris to continue his progression. The main danger could be Vent De Force who looks sure to go close if he improves from his Ascot run, but there’s going to be no juice in his price given it’s contracting as I type. (By Ben Linfoot)

Tennis
2pts over 31.5 games in Kevin Anderson v Yen-Hsun Lu at 4/5

Neither of these players is at home on clay so it's hard to be confident about either producing a dominant performance. Both have decent serves too so a tie-break looks perfectly feasible at some point. If that does happen, then we'll be well on the way to landing the bet. Lu, who went close to beating a decent sort in Lukas Rosol in Geneva last week, played a decent first-round match and I don't see him being brushed aside by Anderson, who looks a rather short favourite. The Taiwanese could well grab a set which again should be enough for the bet to deliver. (By Andy Schooler)

Golf
2pts Gary Woodland to beat John Senden and Boo Weekley at 5/4

My outright tip Gary Woodland is a confident selection to get off to a flying start with a sub-70 first round, which in turn should be enough to see off John Senden and Boo Weekley. The latter is in good form but was in serious pain with a back injury last weekend – far from the first time he’s been held back by such a complaint. With cold, wet conditions forecast I could easily see him struggling once more and Boo has never been reliable at the best of times. Senden meanwhile is a habitually slow starter and has broken 70 just twice from 12 opening rounds here at the Byron Nelson. Woodland on the other hand has broken 70 in the first round in each of the last four years and arrives in form which suggests he can do so again. At a course he knows and loves and with wet fairways very much in his favour, a big week is expected – starting today. (By Ben Coley)

Place your bets on all this week's golf events
Geyhounds
2pts Coolavanny Jap (T2) to win 8.26 at Wimbledon at 8/11 (Best Odds Guaranteed)

Greyhound Derby fever is rife at Wimbledon as the first round of the William Hill-backed Classic continues tonight with heats 11 to 22. Irish challenger Coolavanny Jap (T2) rates banker material in heat 14 at 8.26. Pat Buckley's inmate created a good impression in winning a heat and semi-final of the Scottish equivalent at Shawfield last month, showing blistering early pace on both those occasions, before finishing a respectable third in the £20,000 decider. The lightly-raced Tullymurry Act dog would appear to have all the right attributes for the Plough Lane track and he warmed up for a tilt at this year's Derby with a pleasing 28.52 in a two-dog trial. Horse Racing
1pt e.w. Storm The Stars in the 4.30 at Epsom at 18/1

The last scrap of remaining value in the Investec Derby must be about William Haggas’ STORM THE STARS. By Sea The Stars out of a Sadler’s Wells mare, this horse is not going to be lacking for stamina and he did well to get as close to Hans Holbein as he did in the Chester Vase considering nothing went right for him. He improved on that effort when winning the Cocked Hat Stakes at Goodwood and, though he looked far from the finished article in Sussex, he is still improving and it’s significant that William Haggas considers him ready enough for this test. He’s going to be prominent, he’s going to stay and I’d expect a career-best effort. It might not be good enough to win, but in a Derby which is more wide open than the betting suggests, it might be, and in any case he looks to have a solid place chance. (Ben Linfoot)

1pt Arturo Vidal to be named Champions League final Man of the Match at 16/1

The script that people hope will be written for the final of the Champions League is for this wonderful Barcelona side to sign off with a glorious final swansong before Xavi and perhaps Dani Alves depart for pastures new. But the glittering array of talent they possess may have obfuscated the fact this will not simply be a stroll in the park and the Italians at the prices are fancied to more than hold their own. A specualtive wager on midfield tyron Arturo Vidal to be man of the match is suggested as he is sure to play a pivotal role in any positive Juve display. (David John)

Bet now on the Champions League final
Greyhounds
2pts Coolavanny Jap (T4) to win the 7.32 at Wimbledon

Coolavanny Jap (T4) dodged a bullet in his heat of the WILLIAM HILL Derby and is fancied to get back to winning ways in the second round at 7.32. The Scottish Derby finalist missed a beat at the start and was squeezed for room on the run to the corner, where he encountered trouble and was left with a mountain to climb just to qualify. Pat Buckley's dog ran a cracker to be beaten by only a length and should be able to turn more prominently tonight, with a better draw allowing him to show the excellent early pace that saw him impressively make all in the heats and semi-final at Shawfield. Sunday's Best Bets
Horse Racing
2pts Words to win 4.05 Cork at 5/4 (best odds guaranteed)

Aidan O’Brien definitely has a way with words which brings us neatly to the Group Three Munster Oaks, the highlight of this afternoon’s racing in Ireland. O’Brien looks likely to supply the winner for the second consecutive year in the shape of the aptly-named Words. Joseph O’Brien put up a pound overweight when the filly made her debut at the Curragh but it did not hinder her in the least as she ran out a very comfortable one-length winner. Behind her that day was Raydara, who subsequently won the Group Two Debutante Stakes back at the Curragh two months later. Some two-and-a-half lengths further back in fourth place was none other than the 2015 Epsom Oaks winner Qualify. The third hasn’t run since but the fifth, sixth and seventh all have and they have all won too. Words has not appeared for 352 days as a result of what her trainer describes as "a few hold-ups" but she had been entered for both the Coronation and the Ribblesdale Stakes at Royal Ascot with the latter race being strongly considered until as late as last Friday. Consequently, she is obviously in good form and it is very difficult to see the rest of the field being good enough to give her a stone and more. Seamie Heffernan takes over in the saddle as Joseph can’t do the weight and she is expected to win this before heading to the Irish Oaks next month. The 5/4 with Sky Bet is yet another gift and you all know what they say about looking a gift horse in the mouth. (Irish Eyes)

EXTRA PLACE: Paying 4 places on the French Oaks today!
Football
1pt Draw/England in HT/FT market v Slovenia at 7/2

The home team have more than enough about them to make things uncomfortable for RoyHodgson and his side if they are not back in the groove after last week's turgid draw in Dublin. I do think that England will ultimately come away with the victory - it would be reasonable to expect something more akin to a positive display with points now at stake - but midfielder Jack Wilshere made a pretty salient point in the week and believes that the two sides could well be locked together until deep into proceedings. With that in mind, I like the draw-England in the HT/FT market - that wager would have paid out in both the Three Lions' away fixtures in this campaign and it seems fair to assume again that Hodgson will require his side to work for the three points. (David John)

PRICE BOOST: Rooney to score & England to win - 3/1 from 2/1!
Greyhounds
2pts Forest Gavin (T4) to win 7.21 Sittingbourne at SP

There are six open races for Sittingbourne punters to solve this evening and Forest Gavin (T4) rates banker material in the 7.21. Kevin Hutton's charge lost little in defeat when a head second to the smart Ballymac Manix on his first run since November here last week and connections have found him a real opening. The June '12 whelp is entitled to have come forward for that run and is no stranger to success at the Kent track. (Matt Salter)

Horse Racing
1pt win Digeanta in 5.00 Royal Ascot at 10/1 (best odds guaranteed)

Seemingly Willie Mullins' second string on jockey bookings but he will relish the fast ground and he looks sure to relish the trip judging by his excellent run in the Cesarewitch last October, where he was a staying on fifth behind Big Easy from a bad draw. He returned to the track this season in the aforementioned Leopardstown race 11 days ago, where he finished half-a-length in front of Hardstone in fourth, shaping as though the trip was too sharp and that he’d come on for the run. (Ben Linfoot)

EXTRA PLACES in the King's Stand and the Windsor Castle!
Tennis
2pts tie-break in John Isner v Jared Donaldson & Gilles Muller v Mikhail Youzhny at 1.14/1

Andy Murray starts his grasscourt campaign today and should not take his clash with Yen-Hsun Lu for granted. The Taiwanese is not bad on grass and, with an underrated serve, could prove an awkward customer on the fresh grasscourts of Queen’s. With Lu a quarter-finalist at the venue in 2012 (he also made the last eight in Halle last season), taking the underdog with a 5.5-game start is the bet for those wanting a punt on the match. However, I prefer a tie-break double as my bet of the day. Isner’s record is littered with breakers, a combination of him being one of the top 100’s best servers and worst returners. Muller, a semi-finalist in Den Bosch last week, is also serving well right now but Youzhny will like the move onto the grass and I can see serve dominating that contest too. (Andy Schooler)

PRICE BOOST: Andy Murray to win the Aegon Championships!
Greyhounds
2pts Eden The Kid (T4) to win 8.33 Wimbledon at SP

Eden The Kid (T4) ran a huge race in third behind Farloe Blitz and is fancied to gain compensation at 8.33. The track record-holder was left with a mountain to climb after trouble out of the boxes but flew home to get within a length and quarter of the smart winner and only narrowly failed to nab Boyneside Fun for second. The latter reopposes here but the selection is expected to turn much more prominently tonight and reverse the form. (Paul Latimer)

1pt win Curvy to win 3.40 Ascot at 13/2 (best odds guaranteed)

Ryan Moore has been the toast of Royal Ascot punters so far this week and he’s got a couple of solid chances today as well, including David Wachman’s CURVY who looks worth backing in the Ribblesdale Stakes. Jim Bolger’s Irish 1,000 Guineas winner Pleascach dominates the market here, but she’s worth taking on despite her obvious class given there is a doubt about her seeing out the mile-and-a-half trip. She’s already won over 10 furlongs and she might well stay, but she didn’t look short of pace dropped back to a mile at the Curragh and it could be that today’s trip stretches her. As for Curvy, she’s thrived since stepping up to 10 furlongs in cheekpieces, winning three from three, finishing her races on each occasion like a filly that will improve again for an extra couple of furlongs. Her form last time when beating Giovanni Canaletto was given a boost when Aidan O’Brien’s colt went on to finish an eye-catching fourth in the Investec Derby and she should be closer to the favourite in the market. She’s certainly bred to stay the trip as she’s a half-sister to Thakafaat, who won the 2005 Ribblesdale when Royal Ascot took place at York, and she’s one of the few fillies in the race that look equipped to handle the distance. (Ben Linfoot)

Football
3pts both teams to score in England Under-21s v Portugal Under-21s at 4/5

England start their European Under-21 Championship campaign against Portugal tonight. Gareth Southgate's side are full of confidence after an impressive qualifying campaign but the loss of key defender John Stones for this game is a blow. England's strength is clearly in attack with Harry Kane the man for opposition defences to fear. Portugal provide a tough test with plenty of full international experience in their ranks and I reckon an entertaining clash is in store. Both teams to score looks the best for me given the attacking talent on show. (Nick Hext)

England v Portugal Price Boosts
Golf
2pts Rickie Fowler to win his opening US Open threeball at 6/5

The course at Chambers Bay has already stimulated enough debate to last a lifetime and we haven't even started the competitive action so the advice is to be relatively cautious early on until we can get an idea in terms of the lie of the land, so to speak. So it is just Rickie Fowler who gets the opening vote to beat Tiger Woods and Louis Oosthuizen in the one of the marquee Thursday afternoon groupings. The PLAYERS champion seems to have given the course a thumbs up in practice and he looks by far the most likely to make a positive start on the links-style course which does suit his game. There is obviously a good deal of margin for error with an unfavourable bounce or two but Fowler's relaxed approach should be able to cope and he can build the foundation for a strong challenge this week. Tiger's best game still looks miles away while the South African continues to be plagued by a neck injury that is rapidly ruining his 2015 - both have enough negatives currently to make them readily opposable. (David John)

1pt Ballybee Brewery (T4) to win 7.31 Hove at SP

It is open race action all the way in front of the RPGTV cameras at Hove this evening and punters can get off to a flying start in the Hove Sprint at 7.31. Ballybee Brewery (T4) built on an encouraging British debut at Henlow when winning a C&D contest in a rapid 16.17 last week and the January '13 whelp looks a smart sprinting prospect for Rab and Liz McNair. Monday's Best Bets of the Day
Tennis
2pts double Yen Hsun-Lu & Camila Giorgi both to win at 11/10

I mentioned in Best Bets of the Day last week how Yen-Hsun Lu was no mug on grass and he duly pushed Andy Murray in the first round at Queen’s where he came through qualifying. He should have too much for Ruben Bemelmans today, the Belgian having yet to win a ATP-level match this season. He may have come through qualifying but Lu’s underrated serve and decent return game should prevail. I’ll double him up with Giorgi, a player who is very much at home on grass. She made the quarter-finals here 12 months ago and recently won the title in Den Bosch. I’m surprised she’s not shorter than 4/9 against Christina McHale. The double pays odds-against and should come in. (Andy Schooler)

2pts Acolyte to win 8.05 Windsor at 11/4 (best odds guaranteed)

In-form trainer Roger Charlton runs two in the Asset Finance Solutions Funding UK Businesses Handicap and it's Acolyte who stands out. Third to Elm Park before winning his maiden at Kempton last September, he signed off in 2014 with a disappointing handicap debut effort on soft ground at York. The son of Acclamation was sent off 7/4 favourite that day and was unsurprisingly gelded during his subsequent time off the track over the winter. His comeback run, when second to Rio Ronaldo over tonight's course and distance in April, was really encouraging and although the figures tell us he took a backward step when 'only' third at Lingfield last time, the second, fourth, sixth and seventh have all come out and won races since, while the winner ran a close third in a considerably stronger handicap at Goodwood at the end of May. Acolyte still has plenty of time on his side, he has some very solid form in the book and represents a perfectly fair price (a general 7/2) to add to Charlton's impressive haul of six winners from 26 runners so far this month. I'd expect him to go extremely close in a race of this race nature. (Matt Brocklebank)

1pt Johnny Vivaro (T6) to win 8.07 Nottingham at SP

Johnny Vivaro returned to action with a victory last week and is fancied to follow up in heat two of the Betfred.com Standard Trophy at Nottingham tonight. Charlie Lister's charge could hardly have been more impressive as he made all by five lengths in a smart 28.71 (+20) last Monday and, expected to strip fitter for that first run since early May, he may take some catching if stealing a march again from an ideal make-up out wide.
